HistoryOur church has been involved in the revival since the Summer of 1993. We affiliated with International Apostolic Ministries in the Spring of 1998. We have had many strong visitations of the Lord over the last seven years including angelic manifestations, visions, varieties of involuntary movements (jerking, shaking, etc.), intense supernatural fragrances (incense, anointing oil, smoke, floral smells and others that defy description). Our young children have been heavily touched and often minister to the body. There have been times of repentance and intercession, as well as periods of uncontrollable laughter. There have also been times when most of the congregation has felt cold water running through the meeting place. At Flowing River we are trying to provide an atmosphere of worship and freedom in the Holy Spirit. We believe that this allows Jesus to express Himself through His body (the Church). Often visitors will ask "Who's in charge here?" We consider this a compliment in that we view leadership as having the same function in the Body of Christ as the bones have in a natural body. When the bones are too evident in a human body, something is wrong. Our church has received ministry from a number of revival ministries including the Howard-Brownes, Elias Antonas, Ken Gott, Wayne Anderson, Daryl Stott, Timothy Sherman, Dave Davis, James Berkley, Georgian Banov, John Scotland, Leon van Rooyan, Tony Nash, Larry Randolph, Rolf Auke and others. A number of us have also visited Toronto, Pensacola, Melbourne, and Seattle. We consider Divine healing as an essential part of the full Gospel and actively pursue this manifestation of God's grace and power. A number of miraculous healings have taken place both during our meetings as well as at other locations as our members pray for the sick. We also believe that the unity of the Church of Jesus is a high priority in God's sight. To further this goal we have actively sought out joint activities with other local churches.
